Sarah looked so adorable and I couldn't help but think she barely looked old enough to be anywhere near a school, and that actually worried me. I thought if she looked younger than everyone else, like I had, it might cause her real problems with kids picking on her.
Imagine my shock when her second kindergarten picture, taken only three or four months later, looked like she'd grown a couple of years already. If I'd only known what I was going to be in for over the years....
First grade pictures.
Sarah was six when these were taken. We weren't terribly keen on the posing for the first picture, but the second one came out really cute.
Taken just before Halloween, it was all I could do to convince Sarah she couldn't wear her costume for school portrait day. I had to "compromise" and let her wear orange and black ponytail holders. She's 7yrs old in this second grade picture. Maybe they'll take her third grade portraits BEFORE recess.....
Spring portraits for 2nd grade came out really nice. They also made it abundantly clear that Sarah was NOT going to look her age any longer. *sigh*
Sarah loved the way her hair looked in this shot, but it only did that because I was late getting the picture money to the school and arrived at her classroom about 45 seconds before she was plopped in the chair. So I attacked her with a brush.
Sarah's first school portrait with her glasses. She was absolutely terrified about how she'd look if I insisted she wear them, but I think they came out great!
Sarah's last year at Beachwood. She was pretty torn up about leaving her best friend Priscilla behind, but was really looking forward to having her own room again and being closer to all the extended family.
New school, new start. She's adjusting well and I think she's really excited that she's not going to have to leave friends behind anymore.
Oh and one more thing...
Lord help us, she's discovered boys exist. And worse.... they've noticed her.
