Snow Day! January 29, 2010

Hello, everyone! For those of you visiting from 123 Stitch!, these pictures are all from Clarksville, TN.

Just for you, Mom!! I'll see if I can keep it updated some for you as the day wears on, but we do have to run a couple more errands today, so there's gonna be a bit of a gap.

The snow didn't actually start until right at 1pm Friday afternoon. These pictures were taken at 1:30pm. I'll take another batch at 2:30pm, but we'll have to see if I have time to get them sized and posted before our appointment.

Okay, so I didn't get any pictures taken at 2:30 like planned. Sorry. Things got a bit hectic and we had to bolt out the door for our appointment. Then we sat at the tax office for an hour before they were actually able to get us in and by then we had to head straight for food because we had a presentation to give in the evening. By the time someone opened the door and looked outside, it was 8:00pm and this is what we found waiting for us....

I managed to get a few shots before it dawned on me that a brilliant blue flash going off every couple of seconds in the dark was probably more than a little distracting to any drivers struggling to get through this stuff. *blush*

And a couple more when we got close to home. These were taken at 8:45ish. It took awhile to make the drive home....

Here's the last batch, taken at the house before we went inside for the evening. Of course, Steve and Sarah couldn't resist throwing snow at each other.

We'll take the littles outside tomorrow when it gets light and turn them loose in the backyard and get photos of that for y'all.

Oh, here are some pics I snapped just before heading for bed about midnight. The footprints in the yard that had been made about 3 hours earlier are nearly gone.

The Morning After

So, when I finally dragged my butt out of bed about quarter to 9am, the snow had just about given up. The Weather Channel claims we're gonna get another inch or so, but we're not convinced.

Here's the skylight in the bathroom....

Here's a couple of shots to show I still know how to use a shovel...

Gonna go get Heather and Hunter bundled up so they can go play outside before naptime. This should be entertaining. *grin*

The kids were excited to get outside in the snow, but when the camera came out, the eyes started rolling. LOL!

FINALLY!! We made it outside. Heather and Sarah bolted for the deepest snow and the swingset.

Steve got sidetracked with shoveling the back deck off..and the occasional snowball getting lobbed here and there.

But poor little Hunter decided very quickly that he is NOT a fan of snow and cold. He planted himself in one spot after falling a few times and refused to take another step.

All in all, it was an enjoyable time for everyone!

Well...almost everyone.
